During the winter 2009 season, the Tigard Winter guard had 2 competing teams: JV and Varsity. The JV team competed in SRA (where we are the reigning circuit champions) and placed 8th at the NWAPA championships! The Varsity winter guard competed in SA (2 classes higher in ability than last year!) and placed 4th at championships. Congratulations ladies and gentlemen!
Color Guard is a sport that incorporates dancing with spinning equipment such as flags, rifles, and sabers. In the fall, the guard performs with the marching band at competitions and home football games. In the winter, the guard performs on its own in competition and at assemblies.
The THS guard was started in 2004. Immediately, the guard began winning high auxiliary at many of the fall competitions. The marching band went on to win second place in class A in 2005 and 2007 as well as winning the championship in 2006!
The THS winter guard had its first competition season ever in 2005. After just 4 short years, Tigard won the SRA championship in 2008!
