Winter Guard Results

READ ALL PLEASE!

Well, auditions are over and you all did wonderfully. I have had conversation after conversation with members, staff, and Dave regarding how to make our winter guard(s) work this year. I have argued and defended both options for several weeks, and finally a decision has been made. I'm proud to announce that Tigard will be presenting TWO winter guards for the 2009 season.

As we discussed Sunday, I feel this is the best way for you to be successful as a performer. As one large group, many would drown in the background...staying behind props for over half the show, never spinning a weapon, never being in the spotlight, and only getting to be on the floor for major impacts, if even that. It's not fair for every member. I feel like you each deserve equal time in front of an audience.

You will all be together for 2 hours each rehearsal and travel and compete together at the same shows. Even though we have different productions, we all practice the same basics and take the same dance class. We're still one team.
So, here are the two guards. Congrats to you all and I'm really looking forward to working with both teams this winter.
